Southwest Area History near Blanding Utah
Home to Anasazi Indians, Mormon Pioneers, and Outlaws.

Blanding Utah was one of the last towns of the Old West to be settled. Walter and Albert Lyman dug a 15 mile ditch from the Blue Mountains to the Blanding UT town site. They brought their families here to settle in 1905.
Ute and Navajo Indians live in the area surrounding Blanding Utah. The Blanding area was also the home of ancient Anasazi Indians. Their pueblo homes and cliff dwellings can be visited nearby. Visit The Edge of the Cedars State Park at 660 West 400 North in Blanding UT to learn more about these Indian cultures.
